Sample Sale Picks Monday 12/22

Today's posting is very coco chanel in a recession. I thought I would show you this hot pink very, sex in the city silk draped halter dress. You might be saying hot pink right now? Yes, french designer, Catherine Malandrino, who is never afraid of using strong primary colors is showing what would be considered a rather summery dress in the dead of the holidays. I am more showing you this dress for the black opague tights. Wearing black tights with a soft silky fabric toughens up any pretty party dress. Sums up the French beautifully. Tough on the outside, sweet on the inside.

Style Tip- Consider pulling out your own summer dress and pairing with a pair of black tights, suede peeps and patent leather heels versus a leather pump. Throw on a gorgeous creme shimmery 3/4 length coat with a big black cashmere topper and you have the quintessential french palette filled with all sorts of fabulous textures.

Double Style Tip- One of my biggest mantras is-"Buy what you like, make it work for your life. I don't believe in seasonal dressing. If you pack your wardrobe away each season you are missing moments like these. Your wardrobe like your budget should flex hard. Work it!

To check out this little frock and a whole lot more from Catherine Malandrino, head on over to Gilt Group No dilly-dallying, this is a timed sample sale.

Chanel's latest boutique on trendy Robertson blvd is rocking a dress very much like the one listed in this post. Designer Madison Marcus is doing her homework. At $84 you can take home this little one armed number and rock your own Chanel moment without that "oh so" Chanel price tag.

Style Tip-Imitation is the purest form of flattery and you as the customer get to take advantage of the extreme difference in price. If you aren't the one percent that can cash free afford the original, never feel bad for searching out her knocked off sister. True style is part high-part low. Not every part of your outfit has to scream credit card debt.

Double style tip- asymetrical dressing is all about imbalanced-balance. Not only is this dress edgy and interesting, it has the ability to deflect figure flaws. Any time you show skin to your viewer, you trip the eye to look at your lovely shoulders versus drawing down towards your middle. When wearing jewelry, throw the bracelet on the bare side of the arm. Styling is all in the balance and skin is your ultimate accessory without the price tag.
